Here is a wonderful comment and recommendation from a client and local artist, Carolyn Lord, regarding the Rene Bouche article in my July newsletter.
The timing was perfect: I received your newsletter and I was already planning to be at the Legion of Honor on Friday! The Rene Bouche exhibit was charming and interesting. His economy of line was amazing. I had just spent the previous two hours in the Achenbach Collection, in a class where we were all copying 17th and 18th century master drawings. So to go from one rarified atmosphere to another was inspiring.
I was not familiar with Bouche until you introduced him to me. Here's a question for you: Are you familiar with the illustrator Leyendecker? His work is the embodiment of the Roaring 20's. http://hagginmuseum.org/leyendecker/ The museum in Stockton has an extensive collection of his work.
I also highly recommend checking Carolyn Lord's body of work on her website. Click Here to view.
